I have always loved reading and also writing poetry but recently I have had my first children’s book published. It is for children aged 3 – 6 and below is the link to a short trailer to give you a flavour of what’s included. It is called “Fred and Friends – The Magic Boat" and is about two rabbit brothers and their friends, Cyril Squirrel and Henry Mouse. I used to tell my own children these stories when they were small and now my grandchildren also enjoy them. It is so exciting when a book gets accepted :-)

The publishers are just in the process of dealing with my next Fred and Friends Book - The Magic Boat Flies Again - Meeting the Pixies. I can't wait for it to be published.

With enforced lockdown, many of us have found extra time on our hands and put it to good use. For some of us (myself included), it hasn't been a totally wasted time. I've created this blog for a start and then found myself thinking of poems and nursery rhymes every day. I now have two books, which are poetry for adults "Sorrow and Celebrations". I have included some of the poems under another section - POEMS) and also Modern day Nursery Rhymes ("Time for Rhyme")
I have always loved poetry and so decided to try my hand at writing this collection of Nursery Rhymes, which is suitable for toddlers still at Nursery, through to infant and junior school children 3-8. Traditional Nursery Rhymes are great but I thought it worthwhile to have some with a more modern twist. There are 22 original rhymes and corresponding pictures and this paperback is priced at £5.95. I really hope that people will enjoy it. Since writing the above, I now find that I have absolutely no inspiration for writing others, so this might be my only foray into poetry.
Sorrow and Celebrations - Everyday Poems and Verse. This is a collection of poems, rhymes and verse relating to things we celebrate but also sadness, bereavement and loss. Some of it is personal to me and I did wonder whether I should just keep it for the family, but then there is other material which can affect anyone, such as loneliness and bereavement. Also, a few of the poems relate to Covid 19 and that affects us all.
